2.     ACU Suzuki GSX-R Trophy - Technical Regulations

To be admitted in the 2009 ACU Suzuki GSX-R Trophy, motorcycles must be Suzuki GSX-R 600 K7, K8 or K9 motorcycle, either previously supplied by Crescent Suzuki as part of the ACU ‘Go Race’ package, or via a Supporting Franchised Suzuki Dealer as part of the 2009 GSX-R Trophy.  All machines must comply in every respect with all the requirements for Road Racing as specified in ACU Road Racing Technical Rules contained in the current ACU Handbook, and the following regulations:

Amendments to the technical regulations may be made by the Road Race Committee at any time in order to ensure fairer competitions.

Dyno testing of Championship motorcycles will be carried out from time to time at the discretion of the Chief Technical Officer.  This will take place during Parc Ferme and be considered to be part of normal Technical inspection.  Any rider who refuses to have his motorcycle dyno tested will be assumed to have been in none-compliance with the technical regulations and will be subject to the penalties outlined below.

If a motorcycle is found not to be in conformity with the technical regulations during or after the practices, the rider will be subject to loss of grid position/qualifying time.

If a motorcycle is found not to be in conformity with the technical regulations after a race, the rider will be disqualified. Further penalties (such as fine – a suspension and/or a withdrawal of Championship or points) may also be imposed.

This penalty may be lower at the discretion of the Clerk of the Course only if the none-conformity involves a minor item not connected with performance or safety.

The ACU Technical Director will decide on the technical legality of any Superstock 600 motorcycle. The legality can be proved also in comparison to similar OEM parts

2.1    Minimum Weights

The minimum weight value is determined by the dry weight (in kg) minus 14 kg.
The dry weight of a homologated motorcycle is defined as the total weight of the empty motorcycle as produced by the manufacturer (after removal of fuel, vehicle number plate, tools and main stand when fitted, but with engine oil and other liquids at optimal level). The result is rounded off to the nearest digit.
In the final inspection at the end of the race, the checked machines will be weighed in the condition they were at the end of the race; nothing can be added to the machine. This includes water, oil, or fuel.

At any time of the event, the weight of the whole machine must not be less than the minimum weight with a tolerance of 1 kg.
